RATING GUIDE

What your final rating actually measures.

A completed PERFECT 44 lineup receives a game rating from its offense, playmaking, rebounding, defense, and chemistry. The result is deterministic for that completed roster. The game does not guarantee a perfect season because a lineup includes famous names; it checks whether the five fills its roles and produces a rare all-around profile.

The five category inputs

Offense combines lineup scoring, average three-point percentage, and assists. Playmaking draws heavily on total assists while rewarding a complete guard-and-wing structure. Rebounding uses total boards and a center presence. Defense uses steals, blocks, and a forward presence. Chemistry rewards a complete five, creation, glass work, disruption, spacing, and versatile support statistics.

Why a balanced roster rates higher

A category cannot simply compensate for every other category. An explosive offense with weak rebounding or no rim protection leaves points on the table. A defense-first five still needs enough creation and shooting to turn stops into a season-long advantage. The game’s category weights make those tradeoffs visible in the final recap.

Specialist bonuses are modest

Some player-seasons can earn a small bonus for a clear supporting specialty: elite rebounding and blocks, six assists per game, disruptive defense, or 40 percent three-point shooting. A complete-contributor or connective-five bonus can recognize broad support, but bonuses do not stack into an automatic win. They reinforce a coherent roster rather than replace one.

The 44–0 bar

A perfect season requires a complete lineup and a rating of at least 99. That threshold is deliberately rare. If a roster falls short, use the recap’s category strengths and needs to identify the thin edge for the next run rather than assuming one player alone caused the result.
